Asking Jesus - Jesus' Authority and the Value of Questions
Mark’s gospel is full of questions. Questions posed by Jesus, questions posed to Jesus, questions posed about Jesus.
At the very centre of the gospel is the question “Who do you say that I am?” which is posed to Peter by Jesus, but - more importantly - to us, the readers, by the writer. In some ways - this is the fundamental question of the Christian faith and the key reflection point for all those wanting to follow the way of Jesus.
In the talk below, I unpack the value of questioning and explore how learning to ask good questions in relation to Jesus is the best means through which we can develop as disciples.
